The hardest part about being a 3/5 is not - never reaching perfection - but the disappointment that people project on me. It makes me feel misunderstood and invisible. And it makes me want to hide. Simple but sometimes hard. I find this most successful when there is enough at stake.

Sometimes all the messages and signs are pointing in a clear direction. And we simply resist. We doubt. We cling to the familiar…to comfort. It’s not easy to be a different way but I’m seeing now that this older knee jerk reaction is most definitely the harder way! Check your habits - do they serve you?

How do you think of community?

A lot has changed in the past 20 years…about how we interact in a community.

It used to be that community was your block, town or possibly your business circle and PTA..

How do you think we have evolved into a global community?

Are you bonded together by common interests? A common mission? Do you dip in an out of communities or have ones that are long lasting?

My daughter recently joined a (skating) synchro team. Sure it makes her a better skater and contributes to these other benchmarks she needs to hit in order to be a competitive skater.

But I see the other benefits that I'm hoping will be embedded into her long-term memory and she will reflect on during her lifetime. That is an understanding of what is possible when we work together.

There is no room for the thoughts they don't serve. They need to pay attention at every moment or it will crinkle the entire effort. They must work together for a common cause.

The reason it works is bc they have a shared vision, passion, and commitment. They put whatever differences aside period.

There is something so beautiful about watching them get synched up. Human Potential makes me feel awe and I love that!

What makes you feel awe?

Is Self-Love easy? Yes. That's the whole point!

If it's not easy yet then you might need some de-conditioning.

How do I know if I'm not being loving to myself?

If you find you're being judgmental, critical, or inflexible, you might be protecting something deeper. A spot that needs healing. ...and THIS is the beginning of learning to love yourself.

Self-Love = Cohesion = Innovation.

It sounds simple but when we each are so invested in our own perspectives it's as if the people solving the problem literally are seeing a different problem.

Im making space for all my moods. People who know me know I'm a photographer @geraldine_bien which means I'm usually on the other side of the camera.

Creating a self portrait feels vulnerable - always. Im used to seeing myself through you. My husband says why do you look severe...but that's not exactly it.

Actually, Im pretty shy, sometimes cautious but those who really know me, know that Im usually enthusiastic, fun, always up for an adventure and at time I can even be outrageous.

One super cool thing about photography is we get to explore all the sides of ourselves.

WHY? Ask yourself, is everyone aligned with the same purpose? Why not? Does the purpose need a revamp?

Imagine how it might change the way you see things? Imagine how loved and accepted you would feel?

Now, accepting our own thoughts & feelings is easier said then done but that is the first step.

psst. don't judge your own thoughts and feelings - just notice. How many of your thoughts are based in judgment?

It's a simple shift from Judgement to curiosity and which lead somewhere else...than you might have been going.
